All about Dazzlers gymnastics club
Dazzlers was founded in 2012 and is owned and directed by Michelle (Shelly) Murphy. In 2016 Dazzlers had to move premises due to the school venue closing permanently forcing the club to close for 3 months. They had to start from almost scratch.
They started up again in October 2016 at Our Lady’s high school, Skelmersdale. This has set back plans to expand and develop but the club stays strong. Plans although on hold for the near future are still in sight. Dazzlers Gymnastics is a high quality recreational club with great potential for development. The club is in a period of growth and it has plans to develop to the fullest.
As a Community Interest Company they aim to keep costs affordable and reinvest money raised back into the running of the club. They are affiliated to British Gymnastics and UK Gymnastics.
Dazzlers aim to promote the sport of gymnastics within the local community and its surrounding areas, enabeling children to have the opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting sports of our time, while in a safe and fun environment.
They have a great set of enthusiastic coaches most of which are ex-gymnasts who have now progressed and moved into coaching through their coach development programme. They consider this to be advantageous to them as it brings a wealth of knowlege, experience and understanding to the gymnasts they teach.
All their coaches and helpers are DBS checked, and deliver a well structured programme to ensure each child is seen as an individual and achieves successes in a vareity of forms such as: developing confidence, balance, a healther lifestyle, co-ordination, social and communication skills are just a few.
Staff at the club believe that Gymnastics is an ideal foundation for all sports and helps to develop skills to take further for an active, confident and healthy lifestyle. Focusing on balance, agility, co-ordination, flexibility and strength, gymnastics can be enjoyed at any age and at any level.
The Dazzlers programme offers a structured gymnastics environment. Gymnasts of all levels participate in technique, strength, stretch among other things, no matter the level. At the club they support all children and they understand that their programme may not be for all. Shelly is more than happy to help find a different club that will suit your child better. Many clubs offer classes through play and they try to offer something different.
The Club offers club leotards, award systems and competitions. Unlike many clubs Dazzlers try to make this all optional with the least amount of pressure.
